Fire Displaces Motel Occupants

Occupants of seven units of a motel in Union Gap were displaced today, Tuesday, June 29th, due to a structure fire.

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters were called to the Sunset Motel, 3401 Main Street, at 9:50 am today. Upon arrival they found a heavily-involved attic fire that affected all seven units of one building.

Firefighters Rescue Child from Duplex Fire

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters rescued a child from a structure fire early this morning, Friday.

Crews were called to a fire involving a duplex in the 1200 block of South 41st Avenue at 4:48 am today. Upon searching the structure, they found the child inside a portable crib and removed him from the building. He is believed to be about two years of age. » Read more

West Nob Hill Boulevard Fire Displaces Five People

Five people are displaced following a fire last night, Saturday, May 29th, that destroyed a double-wide mobile home.

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the 7600 block of West Nob Hill Boulevard at 7:17 pm Saturday and found a double-wide mobile home that was fully involved. All occupants were out of the home and no injuries were reported. » Read more

One Person Perishes in Motor Home Fire

At 12:04 am Thursday, May 27th, YFD responded to a fire in the 1600 block of Fruitvale Boulevard involving a motor home.

A search revealed one person perished from the fire. The occupant was a 56-year-old woman and she is believed to be the fire victim.

The Yakima County Coroner and Yakima Police Department are investigating the cause of death. » Read more

Fire Destroys Truck and Trailer

Damages are estimated at $85,000 following a fire that destroyed a semi-truck and trailer yesterday, Monday.

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters were called to 1500 North 6th Avenue at 2:35 pm yesterday. Crews arrived on the scene to find the truck and freight trailer both fully involved.
