Yakima Fire Department (YFD) crews responded to a structure fire at 2:08 this morning, Wednesday, June 26th, in the 1500 block of Fairbanks Avenue.
YFD crews found a fire on the porch of a vacant two-story house. Thanks to quick action by firefighters, the fire was limited to the exterior of the structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The initial estimated dollar loss is unknown because the structure had been abandoned and the fire was contained to its exterior.
Approximately 16 YFD firefighters were on scene responding to the fire.
The Yakima Police Department assisted at the scene.
