A triplex under construction in the 1100 block of Willow Street sustained damages estimated at $50,000 following a fire Wednesday morning, March 31st.
The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the scene at 7:41 am today, Wednesday, and found an exterior fire that had moved into the interior of the single-story structure.
No injuries were reported.
A total of 29 firefighters responded. Crews were on scene for nearly one-and-a-half hours. The Yakima Training Center Fire Department assisted.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by YFD’s investigations division. The fire may have been set intentionally.
