Two units of a triplex in the 800 block of South 53rd Avenue are considered a total loss following a fire early Friday morning, April 30th.
The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the scene at 12:57 am Friday morning and found the northern-most and middle units fully involved in fire. The structures’ attached garages were on fire as well. YFD firefighters were able to save the third triplex unit.
All occupants safely evacuated. No injuries were reported. The dollar loss is estimated at $575,000.
The Red Cross assisted occupants displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. An investigation is underway.
A total of 26 firefighters responded to the fire. Crews were on scene for just over two hours.
