Yakima Fire Department (YFD) crews responded to a residential structure fire in the 1200 block of East Chestnut Avenue yesterday, Sunday, April 10th.
YFD was called to the scene at 2:15 pm Sunday, April 10th. First-arriving crews found the house with smoke coming from the eaves on all sides. There was heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the residence.
The occupants were not inside the house at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.
There was extensive building and water damage throughout the main living areas of the residence.
Damage is estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A total of 18 firefighters responded to the scene.
