Two units of a triplex in the 800 block of South 53rd Avenue are considered a total loss following a fire early Friday morning, April 30th.

Dumpster Fire Damages N. 5th Avenue Building

The estimated dollar loss is $100,000 following a structure fire early this morning, Tuesday, April 6th, involving a commercial building in the 100 block of North 5th Avenue.

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters evacuated an occupant who was sleeping in a second floor apartment of the building. There were no injuries.

A triplex under construction in the 1100 block of Willow Street sustained damages estimated at $50,000 following a fire Wednesday morning, March 31st.

The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the scene at 7:41 am today, Wednesday, and found an exterior fire that had moved into the interior of the single-story structure.

On Monday, March 29th, the Union Gap Police Department reported two unidentified bodies were found at the scene of a structure fire in the 2200 block of South 5th Avenue in Union Gap.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
