The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) responded to a structure fire last night, Saturday, in the 700 block of Cornell Avenue.
YFD was called to the scene at about 9:30 pm Saturday. First-arriving crews found a single-story home with fire showing from two windows and the front door.
No injuries were reported. The Red Cross assisted an occupant displaced by the fire.
Crews removed a dog from the house.
The initial estimated dollar loss is $150,000. Damage to the house included the interior living space and extended to the attic.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Yakima Police Department is assisting with the investigation.
The Yakima Training Center Fire Department assisted at the scene.
