Five people are displaced following a fire last night, Saturday, May 29th, that destroyed a double-wide mobile home.
Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the 7600 block of West Nob Hill Boulevard at 7:17 pm Saturday and found a double-wide mobile home that was fully involved. All occupants were out of the home and no injuries were reported.
Crews also battled dry arborvitae trees on the back side of the residence that added to the spread of the fire. Quick action by YFD firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby residences.
The Red Cross was contacted. Assistance was requested for two adults and three children.
The home and its contents were a total loss. The dollar value of damages is estimated at $75,000 for the structure and $25,000 for contents.
The cause of the fire was electrical, involving an electrical wiring outlet behind a couch in the living room.
A total of 20 firefighters responded. Crews were on scene for nearly one-and-a-half hours.
