S. 13th Street Fire Causes $180,000 in Damages

A fire in the 1400 block of South 13th Street early this morning, Thursday, caused an estimated $100,000 in damages to a residence and $80,000 in damages to several nearby vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters were called to the scene at 1:37 am Thursday. First-arriving crews found a small camper trailer fully involved, with fire spreading to an adjacent residence and nearby vehicles.

Crews contained the fire to the involved areas and ensured all occupants had evacuated. Crews then extinguished the fire.

The Red Cross was called to assist residents displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A total of 17 firefighters responded.
