our City of Yakima Fire Department (YFD) crews are currently working hard to contain and extinguish a significant 3-acre fire on the Yakima Greenway.
The Greenway is closed from the N 6th Ave entrance to the N 16th Ave entrance. The fire was called into 911 at approximately 12:14 AM. Your City of Yakima Firefighters have been working hard since then. The fire is considered suspicious, and we urge anyone with information to come forward and contact the Yakima Police Department (YPD) to help with the investigation. Your help is crucial in determining the cause of this fire and keeping our community safe.
