The Red Cross is assisting one person displaced following a fire that occurred early this morning, Monday, May 10th, in the 1500 block of Landon Avenue.
Yakima Fire Department (YFD) firefighters were called to the scene at 12:41 am this morning and found a single-story residence on fire. No one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
Five engines, a truck company and a Battalion Chief responded to extinguish the fire. A total of 21 firefighters responded.
YFD’s initial operations were hindered by downed power lines, but Pacific Power quickly responded to address the problem.
Damages are estimated at $70,000.
The cause of the fire appears to be electrical.
The Yakima Training Center Fire Department assisted at the scene.
