Damage to a vacant house in the 600 block of Pioneer Lane in Union Gap is estimated at $80,000 following a fire early this morning, Friday, June 26th. (It is the practice of the Yakima Fire Department to not release the specific address of a private home involved in a fire or other emergency response.)
The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the scene at 2:30 am this morning. Crews arrived to find an exterior fire had extended into the attic space. It took about 30 minutes for YFD firefighters to extinguish the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
