The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) responded to a fire early this morning, Wednesday, which destroyed a single-family residence in the 5200 block of West Washington Avenue.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 3:21 am today. Crews found an unoccupied, boarded-up house fully engulfed in flames.
Downed electrical lines delayed initial firefighting operations. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported. YFD crews were on scene for nearly three hours.
The structure is considered a total loss, with initial estimated value of $66,000.
The cause is under investigation.
