The Red Cross is assisting the resident of a home in the 800 block of South 14th Street after a fire damaged the residence and garage last night, Tuesday, June 2nd.
The Yakima Fire Department (YFD) was called to the scene at 7:10 pm Tuesday. Firefighters arrived to find the 700 square-foot building with heavy fire in the garage and spreading into the residence. YFD crews quickly contained the fire and extinguished it.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
The estimated dollar loss is $70,000 as fire damaged the entire structure, including the residence and garage.
